Super Eagles Star, Simon Moses Lights Up 9 Brigade Novelty Match

Super Eagles International Star, Simon Moses was the major attraction at yesterday’s novelty match organized by the Commandant, 9 Brigade of Nigerian Army Cantonment, Brig, Gen. Lader Saraso.

The friendly match according to the information made available to us is aimed at encouraging the Barack youths on social and sports development in the community.

The match, which was played at the mini football pitch inside the barrack saw 36 Lions team taking on Little Wonders Club of the Ikeja Cantonment.

It was an interesting 60 minutes football contest packed with lots of fun and razzamatazz which ended in  3-2 in favor of Little Wonders.

Joining the team in the field of play was former team member,  Simon Moses who added style and fun to the sporting event.

Moses while speaking during the presentation of cash gifts and promotional sports kits to the teams, commended the two teams for a well-done job, putting up a good fight to achieve victory in the match.

“I must confess, you have all put in your best today but in a football game, there will always be a winner and loser. As you all know, I started my career from Little Wonders, and today to God be the glory. I will urge you all to be steadfast, dedicated, and serious about the football career you have chosen.

Commander Saraso in his remarks opined that the reason behind the novelty match is to encourage barrack youths and show their dexterity in the round leather game.

“Skills as you all know required encouragement and football is one of such games which skills, potentials can be tapped from.

“ What gladdens my heart today is the fact that our team, Little Wonders has been enlisted in the Lagos State Football League and I felt it is good to encourage these boys to do more in joining the national league in the nearest future.

“I am so happy for the presence of the Super Eagles Star, Simon Moses at this friendly match.

“His presence here today is like a booster for not only our team but for the two teams that  participated in the game

“You can see him playing, encouraging, and interacting with them to be focused”, he stated.

After the well-attended match, Commander Saraso had a private dinner with the Soccer Ambassador including his wife, media men, friends, and members of his immediate cabinet.
