Glo sets stage for rhythm, laughter at Ofala banquet to honour Obi of Onitsha
Globacom will add music, comedy and live-band entertainment to the 2026 Ofala Festival with a royal banquet in honour of the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, Agbogidi.
The evening’s entertainment line-up features musicians Ikem Mazeli and Boy o Boy, backed by the Groove Band, with comedian MC Ezegetive bringing humour to the gathering. Ejiamike Obiozo will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
Boy o Boy Onwuatu, known for songs including Eselu Na Enu Mmili, will serenade guests with contemporary Igbo sounds, while Ikem Mazeli is expected to add to the musical experience. MC Ezegetive, whose comedy draws on everyday experiences and the humour of South-Eastern Nigeria, will provide entertainment.
For Globacom, the banquet is an opportunity to celebrate Onitsha’s rich cultural heritage while bringing people together through music, comedy and shared experiences.
As the kingdom celebrates the Ofala season under the leadership of Igwe Achebe, the event promises an evening that brings royal tradition and contemporary entertainment together.
