Show of Shame: See how Gov. Obaseki openly snubbed Shaibu’s handshake

Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu are back on the lips of many.

The estranged politicians captured the attention of many with their display at the swearing-in of the Governor of Bayelsa, Duoye Diri for a second term.

Obaseki openly snubbed a handshake from Shaibu at the event that attracted high-caliber guests, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Duoye was sworn in for a second term with his deputy Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, Bayelsa.

The handshake snubbing by Obaseki comes in the face of Shaibu’s insistence that he would get the Governor’s backing to become the next Governor of Edo State.

The duo have been estranged for over a year with Obaseki said to be backing another gubernatorial aspirant Asue Ighodalo as a possible successor
