Bus Stop Films, Australia’s award-winning disability-led social enterprise, is bringing its Bus Stop Employment Roadshow to Adelaide, connecting with local screen industry professionals and the disability community.

The free industry networking event will take place at Adelaide Studios on Wednesday 30th April, 6pm to 8pm, providing a unique opportunity for Adelaide’s film, television and creative production industry to meet potential crew members and learn about inclusive employment practices that enhance productions. Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people seeking work in the screen industry are also invited to come and meet the team and learn about BSE job support services. Local BSE members Charlie and Lewis Smith will speak at the event about their awesome experience working on the South Australian Film Corp supported “Thou Shalt not Steal”, made by Ludo studios for Stan.

Bus Stop Employment has successfully placed people with disability into over 1,000 workplace opportunities across Australia, including on major productions such as ABC’s The Assembly, Netflix’s Heartbreak High, Disney Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, and Nine’s broadcast of the Paralympic Games, as well as TVC’s for companies like QANTAS, Bonds and many more.

  • BSE Team Leader Elise Mather
  • BSE Members Charlie and Lewis Smith
• Information on Bus Stop’s Inclusion in Action workplace training
• Practical guidance on creating accessible production environments
• Success stories from inclusive productions across Australia
• Screening of a selection of BSF’s inclusively made short films

The event will include Auslan interpretation. Refreshments are provided.

The event is part of Bus Stop Films’ nationwide effort to create meaningful employment pathways for people with disability in the screen industry, following their successful Inclusive Crewing Project funded through a Building Employer Confidence grant from the Australian Government.
